CHARLOTTE, NC — Affirming its commitment to amplifying social justice issues through strategic and creative communications, Humanity Communications Collective (HCC) announced today it was selected as a Silver Winner in Best Strategy, Sustainability, Environment, & Climate in The 3rd Annual Anthem Awards.

In January 2021, the Biden Administration announced that 40 percent of the overall benefits of certain federal investments flow to communities overburdened by pollution. The goal of the Justice 40rward Community Tour was to introduce the Initiative to local and federal officials, lay a foundation for transparency and oversight of funds and decisions, and connect frontline communities to decision-makers by bringing meaningful environmental changes. During the campaign, eight cities were visited with specific calls to action to confront that city’s challenges.

Hundreds of leaders, activists, and officials participated in the tours, which included intense dialogues, community forums, and individual toxic tours. Over $500M was pledged among the eight cities.

During the project, HCC:

  • Held a press conference in every city, garnering over 200k media views
  • Created a landing page for Justice40rward
  • Assembled tool kits for partner organizations
  • Designed personalized info packets for each city
  • Launched promotional videos and highlight reels

“We are deeply honored to receive the Silver Winner award in Best Strategy, Sustainability, Environment, & Climate,” said HCC CEO Yanira Castro. “The success of Justice40rward is not just a triumph for Humanity Communications Collective but a necessary stride towards environmental justice for humanity. This recognition is not just an accolade; it symbolizes the collective effort of our diverse team and the impactful collaborations of the campaign.”
